Our Kiwanis club raises funds for the Kiwanis Family House all year long. Over the years, we have supported the Kiwanis Family House and their mission to provide a supportive, healing community around families who are impacted by medical emergencies. Unhomed and Foster Youth Support
In our club, we have a passion for helping Foster and Unhomed Youth. Every year, we provide school supplies, holiday gift bags and gift certificates for new shoes to the Elk Grove School District so they can get the items to the kids who need them the most. Our Kiwanis club also raises funds for scholarships every year for Unhomed and Foster Youth students, who through no fault of their own, find themselves in unimaginable situations while they are trying to attend school to make a difference in their lives. You can help us by making a donation to our Foundation via our easy donation form!
Magnet Fishing with the CSD
Our club thinks it is important for kids to be outside having fun! We have a wonderful partnership with the Cosumnes Community Services District for a Magnet Fishing Derby which gets kids and their families outside and helps to clean our beautiful Elk Grove Park Lake. This FREE event is open to all ages and the registration is managed by the CSD for us. You can learn more about then activity and magnet fishing at the CSD’s website.
Service Leadership Programs
Our club sponsors four high school Key Clubs at Cosumnes Oak, Elk Grove, Laguna Creek and Monterey Trail High Schools. Key Club is the largest student led service organization in the world and was started in 1925 right here in Sacramento. We are proud of the students we support and enjoy mentoring them, chaperoning their events, and working along side of them at service projects. We are equally proud of the advisors who support them. Additionally, we sponsor an Aktion Club at Visions in Motion for adults with special needs at Visions in Motion adult day program. Sponsoring an Aktion club bring us joy all year round!
We also support Uplift Elk Grove, the Optimist Kohl’s ChildSpree, the Elk Grove Food Bank Services and other organizations year-round. There truly is no limit to what a Kiwanian can and will do! Are you ready to join us? Contact us or apply for Kiwanis club membership here.
Laguna-Elk Grove Kiwanis was chartered in 2015 as part of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
